Fairy meadows is a grassland just a few miles away from the base campsite of NangaParbat, located in the Diamer district of Gilgit Baltistan. At an altitude 3300m (10,800), above the sea level it serves as a launching pad for trekkers summiting on the NangaParbat. The meadows is only approachable through a fifteen km jeep track
The grassland is surrounded by alpine forest which makes you feel like its out of some fairytale. The best time to book your tour is from April to Sptember. It takes 14-16 hours to reach fairymeadows on KKH, an alternative route through Babusar can also be opted for but the pass is accessible for just few month in summers. Another traveling option is via plane from Islamabad to Gilgit and a 2-3 hours drivee there onwards. The tour is an adventure filled tour as there is a 2-3 hours treking involved, once you get to the fairy meadows all the sweat and travel is worthwhile the lush green pasture of the meadows and the snow capped peaks takes you into its arms away from all the stresses of dailylife (an escape for a while).
